Armenia
Ancient monasteries and mountain landscapes
About
Discover Armenia
Armenia is a journey to the origins of Christianity. The country was the first nation to adopt Christianity as state religion in 301 AD. Its rock-hewn monasteries — Geghard, Noravank, Tatev — defy time.
Yerevan, its pink capital, owes its color to local volcanic stone. Mount Ararat, symbol of Armenian identity, dominates the city from neighboring Turkish territory.
Armenian gastronomy — dolma, khorovats (barbecue), lavash — is generous, and Armenian Ararat cognac is one of the country's great gustatory surprises.
